Amazon Prime Video is a video streaming service from Amazon. It is available for Amazon Prime members. Amazon prime video offers a vast collection of movies and digital content. Other than popular languages, tt also offers movies in various regional languages. There are also Amazon Originals which shows web series exclusive to Amazon prime members.

Prime video is available free for all who enroll for Amazon Prime membership. Only one plan is available and with that you can watch the unlimited content available. There is no need for Premium membership to watch HD or 4K formats as required by other streaming services like Netflix. Top Hollywood, Bollywood and movies produced in other countries are available. In India local languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Marathi are also available.
What ever be the genre – Action, Thrillers, War, Sci-Fi, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Romance, Adventure, Kids – it is all available classified and easy to search. You can also use Amazon Alexa voice assistant to search and play movies from the coziness of your couch without even moving a finger.
The content is provided in Standard Definition (SD) formats to High Definition (HD) and Ultra High Definition (UHD or 4K).
Playing the content
Prime video can be watched on TV’s, mobile, desktop, laptop, tablets etc. You need to have prime video app installed and must be logged in using your Amazon account to watch the content. In PC it can be watched through a browser. If you do not have a smart TV or your TV doesn’t support prime video app, you can cast the video from mobile or computer, if the TV supports casting. Otherwise we can purchase an Amazon Fire TV device and connect it to the HDMI port of your TV.
4 K and Dolby Atmos
To watch high resolution content, you will require a high speed internet. Now-a-days several TV’s are out there supporting 4K resolutions (3840×2160 pixels). Only if your device or TV support 4K, you will see UHD content. To watch seamlessly without buffering you may need at least a stable 20MBPS net connection. You can search for UHD movies using the search tool in Prime app. Just search 4K and all content that has 4K resolution will show up.
The prime video content also has Dolby Surround support for available movies. 4K version of Fire TV Stick and Cube also supports Dolby Atmos. For an immersive Dobly Atmos sound effect you may need a compatible TV or an external receiver supporting Atmos.
